Fr. Varghese Menachery, the founder director of Sneha Bhavan was a true visionary who considered institutional care only as the last resort. This helped Sunil Kumar to own a house in Bosco Nagar, Palluruthy.
In the year 1980, Sunil Kumar and his brother Binu were admitted to Sneha Bhavan by their mother Philomina, because their father left the family and they faced severe financial crisis, and the children lost their opportunity to go to school. Sunil Kumar learnt basics of using language from Sneha Bhavan through the literacy program conducted at the center.

During that time, many of the residents in Sneha Bhavan were orphans. Sunil and his brother Binu were the only exceptions. This made Fr. Varghese to construct a house for the family at Bosco Nagar for their rehabilitation. In 1884, Philomina, Sunil and Binu shifted to their own house constructed by Sneha Bhavan. Sunil Kumar was also supported with educational scholarship and this helped him to continue his studies. Now, he works in Taj Malabar Hotel in Cochin as a Security Supervisor.

Like Sunil’s family there are also 25 other families in Bosco Nagar living with their children in harmony.
